It's an honor to train here. Travis, Mike, Frosty, and Nate are all excellent coaches and are truly invested in your growth as a martial artist. The team atmosphere lacks ego and everyone is friendly. Overall it's an outstanding place to train. Much respect to everyone.

The instruction that Travis provides speaks for itself. It's one thing to talk about it, it a whole different thing to go in and experience it. Seriously. If you live in the MA area (or anywhere near) and strive for top level instruction do yourself a favor and visit this place or better yet sign up!

I have been here since May, after moving to the North Shore. This place is amazing! I came from another school after 3 months in gi and 7 months no gi. Within three classes I noticed a huge difference in my BJJ game. 5 months later I still can't get over what I have learned. The instruction is amazing, the guys I roll with challenge you and assist you in growing in your confidence and abilities, and the group genuinely enjoy one another. Can't say enough good things!

Do I need to know jiu-jitsu or Judo to study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

No, you don’t. There are beginner classes available and many of the people who study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu have no prior martial arts training.

Do I need any special equipment to study Brazilian Martial Arts?

Students typically wear a Gi (two-piece garment worn by martial artists.) It is also typical for some students may want to wear a mouth guard. It’s a good idea to have a supply of athletic tape, as well.

As a beginner, do I need to spar?

No. Beginner classes focus on teaching basic techniques and safety, and you can then work your way up to controlled sparring in class.

Can Brazilian Jiu Jitsu help me defend myself?
